Is the Florida electrical contractor exam open book?
Yes, but only the books on the DBPR reference list are allowed in the room: the NEC (2023), the Florida Contractors Manual index, OSHA, NFPA 72/780/101 and a few specialty references. Ugly’s and the American Electricians’ Handbook are NOT on the list, so study with them but don’t plan to bring them. Winning is about finding the right table fast (Table 310.16, 250.66, 250.122), not memorizing it.
What math is on the Florida EC exam?
Voltage drop, conductor sizing and derating, motor full-load current and OCPD sizing, box/conduit fill, and transformer calculations. CramPass includes step-by-step calculators for each.
Which NEC edition does Florida test?
